Easter Island: prologue!

 Hi there Everyone,

Is it just me or is everyone excited for the first day of A Chapter A Day

🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

Well, I’ll tell you one thing: I certainly am!

So let’s get started! But first, let’s talk about Aoife, our character we met last week!

There could be so many possible reasons for her to look so dismayed.

So why is she?

Now, let’s dive straight in.

🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿PROLOGUE 🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿

It was the ninth of November, a dark dreary day. Aoife Watson was in her bedroom, strangling her stupid school tie, when she heard her father coughing on his special hospital bed in the room across the hallway.

Dad had cancer.

Aoife loved her dad so much. And as the clouds swirled angrily outside the window, she abandoned the hideous brown tie and went across the hallway to snuggle up with her father.

The only thing that mattered was that dad got better.

Eventually Aoife’s mother came in to tell her she was late for school and to ask her why her good school tie was in knots on her bedroom floor.

Reluctantly, Aoife pulled herself away from her father’s bedside, and went to school.

School was awful, (no surprise there) and on the way home, she stepped in wet cement, a puddle and a little present from a very kind dog who left it on the pavement just outside the jewellery store!

And then things took a turn for the worst, when Aoife discovered the paramedics when she arrived home.

This was not good.

Aoife ran inside to find her mother dressed in black. A grim meaningless expression plastered across her face.

“No,” thought Aoife, “this can not be happening!”

But it was. And I think I should leave out the part where Aoife goes in to say goodbye to her dad.

She came out sobbing her little heart out.

Nothing would ever be the same again!

🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿

So, what do you think? Now do you know why Aoife might be so sad?

But this is only the beginning! I haven’t even started chapter one yet!

In the prologue, it was about Aoife’s relationship with her dad, but chapter one is all about her mum!

If the story inspires you, please let me know in the comments section below,  thank you!

See you next week,

Together Inspired

 Hi everyone, welcome back,

As you should know by now, i’m Orla McKiernan this is my blog Totally Inspired.

We’re going to switch things up a bit, since you should be pros (or almost pros) by now.

This new thing that I’m going to try next week is called: A Chapter A Week. Sounds simple enough right? I tell a story and every week you get to read a new chapter.

But here’s the thing: in the comments section below, you can express your predictions, thoughts and even what you want to happen next!

Okay, now the name of our story is Easter Island.

🗿 🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿

I first came up with this idea when I had just turned eleven. That’s over two years ago now. I used to get this magazine every month called News Flash. There was an article about Easter Island (because it was coming up to Easter) and I knew I had to write a story about it ever since.

🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿

Before you go, I want you to meet our main character: Aoife.

Aoife is ten years old and it’s pretty clear that she is not from Easter Island. She’s from England. So how does she end up on Easter Island? Well, you’ll find that out next week.

Before you go, here is a picture of Aoife (I did not draw this).

Doesn’t look very happy, does she?

Okay, that’s the end of this week’s entry, but I’ll be back again around Sunday and then our tale will begin!

Remember, if you want to see any of your ideas in this story, go to the comments section below to share your ideas.

Thanks for reading,

Orla

Inspired once again!

 Hello again everyone,

Welcome back to Totally Inspired, I’m Orla McKiernan, and  I have got a great new theme for you today, so let’s get started!

What would your dream house look like? Would you live near the sea or near the mountain? In the city or out in the countryside? Would it be a treehouse, or underwater? What colors would you paint it?

                            Greta’s New House

Greta dumped the last of the boxes on the kitchen floor. Her new house was a mess, but she had a plan to fix it up.

Her kitchen would be blue, with little china plates and cups.

Her bathroom would be green, with small lime-colored tiles and charming lemon and lime soap.

Her living room would be red, with a long scarlet sofa and silky cream cushions. She also had a nice mat that would look good.

A yellow bedroom would be just perfect, since she stocked up on yellow paint, and she still had that little set of yellow origami pots!

The walls of her office would be pale pink and a pink swivel chair was just waiting to be used.

After a cup of tea, Greta set to work. This was going to be fun!

Question of the day:

If you are living in your dream house, would you live alone or with someone? If so, who would you live with?

Quote of the day:

Hang on to your dreams! If you let go there’s a good chance you’ll never get it back again.

If either the story, the question, the quote or the photo inspired you, please let me know in the comments section below,
Also, if you want to draw your dream house or anything else, don’t be afraid to.

I’ll write again next week,

Orla

An Introduction to Inspired

 Hi Everyone,

I’m Orla McKiernan and welcome to my new blog; Totally Inspired!

First of all, this is a blog for anyone who wants inspiration, whether you want to write stories, sculpt, draw or paint; in short, anyone who creates masterpieces.

Every time I write, which might be every week or so, you’ll discover the weeks post full of inspirational stories, questions, quotes, photos and much more!

Each post should have a unique and Inspirational theme, and since this is the first post, the theme is Inspiration

First of all, what is inspiration? It’s a difficult word to describe. Some people might describe it as a feeling, a good feeling that you get when you get a great new idea!

So that’s what today’s short story is about!

                        What is Inspiration?

A girl sat hidden at the far end of the garden between her father’s rosemary bush and her mother’s wild Flowers.

The girl had a unique appearance. She had wild red hair, deep blue eyes and she wore a brown leather jacket and brown leather boots. Her dress underneath was sky-blue and white, and very dirty (much to the annoyance of her mother).

She had been sitting there for an hour now. A pen was tucked behind her left ear and a brown leather notebook was perched on her lap.

The day was cloudy.

The girl meant to write a story, but she didn’t know how.

Her father walked past with his wheelbarrow. “What are you doing? He asked.

“I’m trying to write a story, but I don’t know how.” Replied the girl.

“You just need some inspiration.” He replied.

“What is inspiration?” She asked.

Her father scratched his beard for a moment, and then he said “it’s sort of like a happy feeling.” He said. Then he walked away.

The girl sat silently for a while.

Suddenly the sky lit up as the glorious sun broke through the clouds! Light shone throughout the garden as the little girl picked up her pen and started writing.

Question of the day:

What is inspiration for you?

Quote of the day:

If you have inspiration, you have what it takes in life.
